Prof. Adrian Egli Elected to the SAMS Senate
During its recent spring session, the Senate of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS) elected Zurich-based Professor Adrian Egli as a new ordinary individual member. He will officially represent the University of Zurich in this prominent body, which plays a pivotal role in shaping medical research and ethics across Switzerland.
The Senate of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences has expanded its ranks, welcoming nine distinguished experts to its body. Alongside Prof. Adrian Egli from Zurich, five other new individual members from Geneva, Basel, and Lausanne, as well as three new honorary members, were appointed during the annual spring meeting. SAMS holds a vital responsibility in advancing Swiss medicine by championing scientific excellence, delivering clear ethical guidance, and maintaining a continuous dialogue between the scientific community, healthcare providers, and the general public. Commenting on his appointment, Egli shared that being chosen to serve on the Senate is a major honour for him. He looks forward to engaging in deep institutional exchanges and contributing his specialized knowledge to the strategic framework of the academy.
