Chiropractic is, as a science-based treatment method, an alternative and / or complementary approach to the medical, surgical and physical therapy treatments of many diseases and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Since autumn 2008, it is possible to study chiropractic at the Medical Faculty of the University of Zurich. The Department of chiropractic is affiliated to the Balgrist University Hospital.
Development, implementation and monitoring of the curriculum of the new course of chiropractic at the University of Zurich (Bachelor degree with a focus on chiropractic and master's degree on chiropractic medicine). The research planning, the development and execution of research projects in the field of chiropractic is also conducted in collaboration with other institutions (University of Zurich, ETHZ, and Bournemouth University, UK).
The clinical training of future chiropractors takes place at the Balgrist University Hospital.
The Chiropractic Department offers information and treatments to ambulatory patients. For the holistic care of the patient, a close interdisciplinary exchange is maintained with all other disciplines of Balgrist University Hospital.

- Consequences of cervical spine injuries (WAD Disorders)
- Pain and dysfunction of the peripheral joints such as the shoulder, elbow and knee
Qualifications of school
6-year university degree program within the federal Medizinalberufegesetzes MedBG.
